The European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC) is delighted to announce that valuable insights from our Strategic Industry Roadmap (SIR), which represents the common long-term perspective of our Members on the three Quantum Technologies pillars (quantum computing, quantum communication and quantum sensing & metrology), their enabling technologies and adjacent subjects such as IP, Finance, Standardisation and Education, have been incorporated into the official Quantum Flagship “Strategic Research and Industry Agenda SRIA 2030: Roadmap and Quantum Ambitions over this Decade”.
The Quantum Flagship unveiled its quantum strategy on 14 February 2024 at the European Commission in Brussels at a special handover ceremony. The new strategy delineates Europe’s self-sufficient environment being developed for scientific and industrial purposes within the quantum technology realm, involving numerous researchers, a flourishing workforce, and the world’s highest level of public funding allocated to quantum technologies. The roadmap aims to establish the European Union as “the world’s first quantum valley” with its vibrant ecosystem consisting of startups, SMEs, research organisations, strong workforce, and “multi-billion Euro investments” in quantum innovation (as stated by The Quantum Flagship).
Through rigorous analysis, collaboration, and dedication, QuIC has played an integral role in the development of this strategy paper, which has defined the roadmap for our quantum industry’s direction across Europe. This accomplishment underscores our steadfast commitment to innovation, leadership, and driving positive change within our industry.
